NoWaste - Food Inventory List App Reviews

This looks like it would be a good app, unfortunately I cant actually test it in comparison to the other apps I have been trying for this purpose. This app says its free, but it is basically nonfunctional. Of course, you can purchase all of the upgrades. Its not like 2.99 is expensive, its the principle of being able to actually test the app for free. It would be better for us to only be able to add a half a dozen things to each list and then be asked to pay for the expanded space. I cant tell how good the scanner database is. Without the scanner database being good, this is useless no matter what. Asking me to pay to find out its useless means Im not going to try it.

This app has potential, but Im having a lot of user interface glitches on my 6+. I like this app as it actually takes advantage of my larger screen and has separate options for freezer, fridge, and pantry. I like the user database idea. Id be more than glad to pay more than what is being asked if the glitches were ironed out and maybe a few more features added, but like I said has potential. Not in a state for me to purchase yet.

I bought the pro version - $2.99 wasted. I scanned 20 items in my pantry before I found a single item that was in the barcode data base. Can we not just use existing barcode databases? Im sure its possible for fee to the developer. Regardless, this app is worthless and I feel stupid for buying it.

The app may be "free" but you have to PAY $$$ to add more than 5 items to the freezer & PAY $$$ if you want to add ANY items to the fridge. NOT WORTH IT.

I just bought this app a few days ago, so my opinion may change; however, I think it works great keeping track of items in freezer and fridge. I have not used the pantry part of the app yet. The biggest problem is having to type in all the food in the fridge and freezer. Using the bar code should help make this a little easier. It does keep great track of the food and is easy to view as to which food needs to be eaten right away. Helps with meal planning. So far I like it!

Next to useless. When I mark foods as eaten they arent taken off the inventory. Most the items I tried to scan arent in their database.

Spent the time to enter freezer inventory, and when you go to use, does not remove the item. What a waste of time. I usually dont write reviews, but this time waster, which I thought would help my family, really upset me. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Its a nice app. Adds and removes items just fine for me. Has the features I want without being too complicated.

I wrote out a really long comment but then Apple deleted it and I dont feel like typing it out again. Long story short there are three issues that NEED to be fixed before this app is worth paying for. I wish that I could get my money back actually. I would love to talk to the developers directly. The skinny of it is though, 1) I bought the membership and spent a whole day inputting my freezer, fridge, and pantry only to find out I needed to set up a profile first. So now I dont get any of the member benefits (like syncing and moving food between lists) and I dont have time to re-input all that info. 2) You HAVE to input an expectation date which is annoying. There should be an opt-out function. And 3) the quantity function is useless because there is no way to control the quantity unless you go in and edit the item which takes too long. There are other annoying aspects of the app, but those are the major ones.
